The Nemeth family came to Brantford from a small town in Hungary in 1909. Joseph and his wife Esther settled in Brantford while Joseph worked as a metal moulder in a factory. In 1911 their first child, Frank, was born and two years later their daughter Rose was born in Brantford. For the next 30 years they remained in their home at 18 Duke street and in 1932 son Frank was married to button sewer by the name of Thelma Louise Mary Parker. In the 1940s Frank joined the Provost Corps and was shipped to London and during this time Esther died from Bronchitis after entering the hospital for stomach cancer. The records become scarcer around this time but the Nemeth’s appear on documents dictating Rose and her Fiancé crossing the border to live permanently in Detroit.
